" It was my first picture after my big accident, after that my right eye doesn't work anymore. I took the wrong eye at beginning and then i had to use my new eye, the left one, for the first time. Thanks to Richard i found again "my bubble" (the one that i could create with my subject). I found him connected with me, and consequently, i think, this is for this reason, that we can see a big emotion in this picture. Thanks to this photography, i had self-confidence again and i felt that i will be able to take pictures again."

" I was still at the head of Equipe Magazine at that time. Jean François Talivez came to me with his pictures book and he wanted to pick himself up after his big accident.

It's the first work that i gave to him, this portrait of Richard Dourthe. I was waiting for a truely portrait, an image with complexity of the character, his interior war in his mind.

The mission was completely achieved. Everything is said. We can feel this huge cleverness, this deepless and even in the look, the possibility that everything can change very fast… as the subject was on a thread of life….
