Right after completing his military service, Christophe Paucellier — not yet known as Pauce — walked into a photo shop to photocopy his résumé. He wouldn’t walk back out until years later, with a newfound passion and a well-honed technique. He started out working for the Corbis agency, then founded Photoandco with two other breakaway photographers — an agency he left fairly quickly. A little later, in 2007, at a bit of a low point in his career, a photo shoot with Chabal — arranged at the request of the player’s agent, who wanted to boost his career — ended up boosting his own as well. This incredible series of images launched him and firmly established him among the great French portrait photographers. Since then, he has worked as a freelancer for the press and advertising industries.
